My Style

Hello friends!

I've mentioned it before, but I feel like I'm still working on defining "my style". What does it look like to be in my late 20s, and a mama, and a part-time church employee, and all of the other things that define my life?

Well, lets start at the beginning...what I know I like.

I'm a total sucker for cardigans and scarves. It's a sickness, really. If you went to look at my Style Pinterest board, you would see all sorts of different scarf/cardigan combinations.
If I had all of these things in my closet I would be such a happy camper!

I would like to get a bit more interesting with my scarves. I mean, if they're going to be a wardrobe staple, I should at least change it up a bit, right?

Another thing I would like to work on is adding more patterns into my wardrobe. I think they intimidate me a  bit because I think they're going to make me look large(er?).

Maybe some florals?

How cute is that??

One pattern I've been slowly adding into my wardrobe is stripes. Talk about intimidating! Aren't horizontal stripes supposed to be a no-no?

I've typically been wearing my stripes under, you guessed it, a cardigan! I think it breaks up the pattern enough to keep me from looking wide, but still let's my use the trend.

Another thing I've been loving is taking a neutral outfit, and using shoes as a pop of color. I think it makes staple pieces so much more versatile, which is what I want! I need more bang for my little bucks!

One thing I will master this summer is the maxi dress! I love them, but every one I have tried on so far has made me look like I'm wearing a tent. I read somewhere that there is a maxi dress for every body shape, so I'm bound a determined to find one!

This is definitely a work in progress. Maybe I'll start adventuring with my wardrobe and share it with you guys. What do you think?

1LW Wednesdays #14

Hey friends. Glad you stopped by today. I really love this one little word challenge we have been doing for 2012.

If you are new to this challenge we have all chosen one word... It can be any word...just has to be a word that you can focus on daily. My word for 2012 is WORDS.

I have a lot to work on with my words still. When to use them when to hold them in. When to silently say them and when to shout them from a roof top.

One way we can use our words to really make a difference in someones life is to use our words in the most loving way.

Prayer...

Praying for others is one of best ways we can be a better mother, daughter , sister, and friend.

We are all guilty of at times of saying we will pray for someone but never really do. It's time we change that. One way I found is when someone asks me to pray I do it right then. Then I also write it down so I can pray again later but by praying right away you are using your words as promised.

Words spoken to God are powerful words. They are so meaningful.

Let me take a moment a pray for you.
Dear Lord, I come before you today with a thankful heart. Thankful for the beautiful flowers, fresh spring air, and green grass that's all around me. Father I want to thank you for the person reading this today. May this person be blessed. May they have a peace in their life that can only come from you Lord. Father if my friend is a Christian please help them be bold. Help them to remember to listen to your gentle voice and follow the plan you have for their life. Lord if my friend has not yet given their life to you I pray they do. I pray that the right person comes into their life and shares all your glories with them. Allow their heart to be open to hearing your truth. Lord allow them to feel your presence. Father I thank you again for how you allow us to share about your never ending love for us. In your son's precious name amen.

Chrissy

We've made a few changes to 1LW Wednesdays, so go take a look if you haven't already!

Be blessed!

Toddler Box 3: Pom Poms

Hi friends!

Toddler boxes are back! Yay! The one I have for you today is a go-to in our house. It is so versatile!

Super simple. Pom Poms and pinchers. Pom Poms are available in all sorts of colors at craft stores, and I found the oversize tweezers at my local teaching supply store.

Abbey likes to fill up her tea cups with pom poms, so those usually live in the box, too.
Sometimes we fill them up by color. Sometimes we fill up the cups and use the pinchers to put them back in the box.

Would you like some "punch"?

Another thing Abbey likes to do with these is glue them to paper. It is a great chance for her to work on multi-step projects. She's still working on getting enough glue onto her paper to get them to really stick, but we're getting there.

If your little one is up for more of a challenge, you can have them fill in the circles on bingo-dauber worksheets.

I find a lot of great ones HERE.

Have any of you made any Toddler Boxes yet? I would love to see them! Link me up in the comments!

Now, it's time for the Kids Co-Op Linky Party!  I am amazed every week at the fantastic ideas in there. Make sure you check them out!
