Hi friends!

I'm talking about Christmas today.

I KNOW!

It's coming whether you're ready or not, so we might as well pretend like we're ready, right? Right.

I love holiday traditions. There is something comforting about knowing that in all the chaos that can come with the holidays, there are some things that are the same every year. We didn't get to do a lot of our holiday traditions last year because we were still trying to find normal. I want to get back to them this year! Every year for all of my life we have had advent calendars. You know those German cardboard ones with the perforated doors and the molded chocolates? Yep, those. LOVE them. Every so often my mom would step up her game and we would do something fancy, but those cardboard ones were there every year without fail.

Those simple traditions are the ones that stick.

Hallmark wants to help you create those simple traditions with Northpole. Not only is there an adorable, interactive website for your family to explore, but there is a whole line of toys and books that will be exclusively found at Walmart!

We love the Northpole Communicator. It works a bit like an advent calendar in that kids get to check in with Northpole once a day. Each time they are answered by whoever is closest to their communicator up at Northpole. Sometimes it's an elf, or it could even be Santa himself! Whoever answers tells you what is happening in Northpole, and then asks a question or two. It's fun. Abbey loves it!

We also love the book, Once Upon a Northpole Christmas. It's about how one little elf helps everyone reset their priorities and saves Christmas. The world has gotten so caught up in trying to make Christmas perfect that they have lost their joy. Sound familiar? This one is going to be a regular in our Christmas book basket!

Our book came with the Snowflake Beacon, which will glow on the Christmas tree to make sure Santa can find us.

Simple traditions are the ones that stick. Does that mean that we shouldn't make those fancy, hand-cut felt, glitter covered advent calendars? Of course not! If they bring you joy, go for it! If they bring you stress, just scroll on by!
